Morneau Shepell Ltd. has further boosted its presence in the employee assistance program business in Quebec with the acquisition of Pro Health Group Inc.
Pro Health, based in Quebec City, offers employee, family and manager assistance programs, as well as wellness and other mental-health services. The latest move follows Morneau Shepell’s recent acquisitions of two other Quebec-based providers in the last year: Longpré and Solareh.
“Joining forces benefits each organization, employees and, most importantly, our mutual clients,” said Rita Fridella, executive vice-president and general manager of employee support solutions at Morneau Shepell.

“Moreover, Pro Health Group’s reputation will further solidify Morneau Shepell’s position as the leading EFAP provider in Quebec, especially in conjunction with the acquisition of Solareh and Longpré in the last year. Founded in 1996, Pro Health has more than 600 employers that subscribe to its employee and family assistance program. The company, which has 24 employees, will continue to use the Pro Health name for the time being.
“Joining Morneau Shepell is a leap forward in terms of Pro Health Group’s long-term growth and the services provided to our clients,” said Geneviève Babin, president and chief executive officer of Pro Health.
“Pro Health Group gains access to Morneau Shepell’s clinical best practices, technology and worldwide presence, while Morneau Shepell adds an experienced team of employees that has consistently provided excellent client service.”
