Murray Gold, managing partner at Koskie Minsky LLP, has been appointed as a member of the initial board of directors for the Ontario Retirement Pension Plan (ORPP) Administration Corporation.
Gold is a leading expert in pensions and employee benefits and has advised boards and sponsors of major public and private sector multi-employer plans for more than 25 years.
He has been lead counsel for Koskie Minsky in pension reform initiatives in Newfoundland, New Brunswick, Ontario and Alberta. He has also served as a member of Ontario’s Technical Advisory Group on Retirement Security and as an expert advisor to the Ontario Expert Commission on Pensions.
The ORPP Administration Corporation will be responsible for administering the ORPP. Its responsibilities will include enrolling eligible employers and employees; collecting, investing and holding contributions in trust for members; administering benefits; and communicating with employers, members and other beneficiaries.
