Novus Health is partnering with iA Financial Group to provide employers with health and wellness tools for their plan members.
“For many Canadians, health literacy remains a challenge: it can be overwhelming to navigate Canada’s complex health-care systems and understand their options,” said Novus Health in a press release. “What’s more, when searching online for answers to health questions, Canadians report trouble finding reliable, relevant information. All this can make the search for health information a frustrating, time-consuming process that leaves many simply wanting to speak to someone.”

Novus Health provides phone access to health information specialists, as well as anytime access to online and mobile platforms that contain relevant information. It’s platform, which is bilingual, also includes a health risk assessment tool that provides plan members with a personalized health report, helps them find local resources and come up with a course of action based on their individual situation. The tool can also assess a plan member’s needs on an ongoing basis to help them adapt to their changing health.
Novus Health also offers an absence and disability avoidance program, which looks at the causes of workplace absence while the plan member is still at work, giving them the chance to connect with a health coach who can help keep their health problem in check before it becomes severe enough to warrant absence.
“The program’s proactive, behaviour change-focused intervention makes it a cost-effective alternative to traditional employee assistance programs for organizations that want to minimize disability and absenteeism, reduce costs and provide holistic support services to their employees,” noted Novus Health in the press release.
