Anthony May, corporate account executive for Manulife Financial and member of the sanofi-aventis Healthcare Survey Advisory Board, died on Sept. 29 after a battle with pulmonary fibrosis. He was 56.

With more than 30 years of industry experience, Anthony served as chair of the Canadian Pensions & Benefits Institute’s (CPBI) Pacific Regional Council, the Canadian Council on Integrated Health, and was a founding member of the Certified Employee Benefits (CEBS) Specialist Advisory Council and a former CEBS instructor.

Originally from Harvey, Illinois, Anthony spent time in England, New York, and Toronto before settling down in Vancouver. He was passionate about family, golf, and travel. Those who knew him will miss his early morning tee times and endless home renovation projects.

Anthony will be remembered for his volunteer work for the CPBI’s Pacific Regional Council, and was named the 2008 Regional Volunteer of the Year for coordinating the conference planning committee long after he left his official position as chair.
