The Ontario Municipal Employees Retirement System has appointed Kelly Marshall as executive vice-president of strategic partnerships, effective Nov. 1.
In the new role, Marshall will drive the growth of the pension fund’s strategic partnerships, including its relationships with third-party organizations and with co-investors and other finance partners.
Marshall’s most recent role was managing partner for corporate finance at Brookfield Asset Management. During 15 years with Brookfield, he has completed more than $80 billion in debt and equity transactions in North America, Australia, Brazil, Chile and India for real estate, renewable power and infrastructure assets.

OMERS is also opening an office Singapore in January 2018 as part of a multi-year strategy to identify promising investment opportunities in emerging markets.
“Our decision to locate in Singapore is consistent with our overall effort to further diversify OMERS global investment holdings,” said Michael Rolland, chief investment officer at OMERS Private Markets, who will lead the company’s presence in Singapore.
