Pyramis chooses new president

Pyramis Global Advisors has appointed Jeff Lagarce as president, effective Jan. 1, 2015.

He will succeed Mike Jones, who announced his plans to leave the company at the end of the year.

Lagarce joins Pyramis from Fidelity Worldwide Investment in London, where he served as global head of the institutional business, including DC, for the United Kingdom, Europe, Asia and the Middle East.

Fidelity Worldwide Investment operates independently from U.S.-based Fidelity Investments.

Lagarce has more than 30 years of experience in the institutional investment business, including 14 years in senior management positions at Fidelity and four years as president of OFI Institutional Asset Management, a subsidiary of OppenheimerFunds.

“Jeff brings to Pyramis tremendous experience leading both institutional asset management and large distribution organizations,” says Charlie Morrison, president of Fidelity’s asset management organization. “Jeff’s experience, along with his broad and deep understanding of the needs of institutional investors and consultants, will help us remain focused on meeting the investment needs of our clients.”
