Scotiabank's Hodgson to retire

Chris Hodgson, group head of Scotiabank’s global wealth and insurance division, has decided to retire ahead of a realignment of business units scheduled for later this year.

He and Alberta Cefis, executive vice-president and head of global transaction banking, will both retire at the end of October.

Effective Nov. 1, Scotiabank will integrate its wealth, insurance and global transaction banking businesses into its three business lines: Canadian banking, international banking, and global banking and markets.

James O’Sullivan will assume the leadership of global asset management and global wealth distribution as executive vice-president, global wealth management.

Global transaction banking will be realigned to global banking and markets and will be led by Marian Lawson in the new role of executive vice-president, global financial institutions and transaction banking.
