Students say environmental issues will influence their career choices

Employers, be careful: your future employees are watching your sustainability track record.

As many as 90% of McMaster students at every level and across various disciplines feel corporate sustainability practices affect their opinions of organizations as future employers.

These are the findings of a newly released 2015 joint study by McMaster University and Grand & Toy.

More than a third of respondents say finding a job where they can actively participate in promoting sustainability is important to them.

Nearly half of polled students say when they’re in a mid-level position, they would reject a job offer from an organization with a poor environmental record, while 13% would do so immediately after graduation.
