SEI Investments Canada Co. has appointed Lucy Paglione as senior client portfolio manager.
In the new role, Paglione will be responsible for managing relationships with the firm’s Canadian defined benefit pension and non-profit employer clients. Her focus will be on the firm’s outsourced chief investment officer services, building custom investment strategies for those clients.

Joining SEI with more than 35 years of asset management experience, Paglione was previously an investment consultant at the Newfoundland and Labrador Teachers’ Pension Plan Corp.; national practice leader for investment and capital accumulation plan consulting at Buck Consultants; as well as the senior vice-president of pension and benefits and director of treasury and pension investment at George Weston Ltd.
“Lucy is an established veteran in this industry with a remarkable track record of successfully delivering investment strategies to a variety of types of institutional investors,” said Roger Messina, vice-president and managing director of the North American client portfolio management team in SEI’s institutional group, in a press release. “She is a tremendous addition to our Canadian team and our clients will surely benefit from working with her.”

In another appointment, Sun Life Investment Management has appointed Tom Murphy as head of affiliate development and business strategy.
In the new role, he will be driving growth for the firm’s third-party institutional business. Previously, Murphy held several positions at Mercer, including helping it to build its European outsourced chief investment officer business, as well as overseeing its U.S. wealth businesses, which includes a broad spectrum of pension streams, including the U.S. OCIO business, as well as the defined benefit, defined contribution, not-for-profit and wealth management businesses.
