The Alberta Investment Management Corp. is appointing two of its investment leaders to new executive roles, effective immediately, as Marlene Puffer steps away from her role as the organization’s chief investment officer.

Justin Lord has been named senior executive managing director and global head of public markets, overseeing public equities and fixed income. He has served as the AIMCo’s head of public equities since 2022 and has more than 19 years of public markets investment experience with expertise in both capital allocation and international public markets, according to a press release.

The AIMCo is also appointing David Scudellari as senior executive managing director and global head of private assets and strategic partnerships. He’ll oversee the investment organization’s global private assets including private credit, infrastructure, real estate and private equity.

“These appointments confirm the benefits of our focus on developing talented investment leaders from within the firm and Alberta,” said Evan Siddall, chief executive officer at the AIMCo, in the release. “David and Justin both bring decades of investment experience and I am excited to be so well positioned to continue to fulfill our purpose to our clients, as we execute our investment strategy under their leadership.
