The Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec is appointing David Morley as managing director and head of Europe.
He joins the Caisse after serving as chair at Elaghmore Partners LLP, a private equity firm, for four years and at Vannin Capital LLC, a litigation funding business, for a year. Prior to that, he spent over three decades with Allen & Overy LLP, helping it grow internationally to a global organization with 45 offices in 31 countries. He also recently established his own consultancy business on strategy and leadership.

In his new role, Morley will sit on the Caisse’s global management team and help identify new investment opportunities, develop partnerships and advise on the group’s portfolio companies, noted a press release. He’ll lead the London office and work closely with the various asset-class heads for the region.
“[Morley] is a recognized and inclusive leader who brings deep and relevant expertise to [the Caisse], and I am thrilled that he will be bringing his combination of international experience, leadership and business acumen to our team in London,” said Marc-André Blanchard, executive vice-president and head of the Caisse’s global team, in the release. “He will play a key role in implementing [the global division’s] business model and strategic plan — underpinned by our constructive capital approach — as we continue to grow our presence in Europe.”
