In response to the growing role of environmental, social and governance factors in the Ontario Municipal Employees’ Retirement System’s investing strategy, its private equity arm, OMERS Private Equity, is appointing Helen Rattee as its first managing director of ESG and portfolio thematics.
In the role, she’ll manage the organization’s ESG program in a manner that mitigates risks and capitalizes on opportunities, according to a press release, which also noted she’ll help develop OMERS Private Equity’s framework for assessing the risks and opportunities associated with broader trends, such as inflation, supply chain issues and interest rates.

Previously, Rattee oversaw the markets investment risk team at the OMERS, which provides independent risk analysis of private equity and infrastructure transactions and portfolios. Earlier in her career, she was a business and investment analyst for Coburn Ventures and an equity analyst for Citigroup Asset Management.
