Nearly half (44%) of respondents approve of the Ontario Retirement Pension Plan (ORPP) as a supplement to the CPP, according to a sampling of public opinion by the Forum Poll among 1,148 Ontario voters.
Another 37% of respondents disapprove of the ORPP and 19% don’t have an opinion.
The Ontario government’s new pension plan will be rolled out from Jan. 1, 2018, beginning with the province’s largest employers.
