The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) has laid dozens of fraud-related charges against a 62-year-old former employee of the archdiocese of St. John’s.
The RNC alleges that more than $500,000 in fraudulent cheques were issued and money was stolen from a church pension fund between 2003 and last year.
The charges include eight counts of fraud over $5,000 and 10 of forgery.
The St. John’s resident is to appear in court on Aug. 2.
