In less than two years, the Ontario Retirement Pension Plan (ORPP) is scheduled to be introduced.
The provincial government says the ORPP is needed because Ontarians aren’t saving enough. Private sector organizations say they are worried about the unintended consequences while public sector groups think the plan should be universal.
