Andrew is CEO of Spence Strategic Consulting Inc, a pensions and investment advisory practice serving some of Canada’s leading pension plans, private foundations, and asset managers.
He is also an advisor to a leading market risk manager serving the alternative management community across the globe.
Andrew is a former investment executive and board adviser with both strategic and tactical experience in asset allocation, portfolio construction, economics and overlay risk management at two of Canada’s leading pension plans.
He was seconded to the Bank of Canada as Special Adviser to the Governor and has been a guest lecturer at both the Rotman Business School and Munk School of Global Affairs at the University of Toronto.
Andrew sits on the board of the Toronto Foundation where he is Chair of the Investment Committee which oversees $700MM of assets dedicated to city building and the interests of girls and women in the global south.
Andrew started his career in the Government Economic Service at H.M. Treasury in London where he worked on macro-economic policy providing advice to government ministers. He holds an M.Phil. in Economics from the University of Bath, England.
